Steven Tyler Leaves American Idol

It looks like Steven Tyler has had enough publicity for his music, so he will be leaving the American Idol judging table. There have been a lot of rumors as to who may or may not be leaving the hit show. Steven has beat them all to the punch, but says he loved doing the show. He also wants everyone to know that Rock is NOT dead and he is going to do his absolute best to bring it back!!!

According to ABC:

In a statement, Tyler says, "After some long...hard...thoughts…I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit.”   Tyler added, “I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back, but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band."

 

Tyler went on to say that he's going to spend the next few years "kicking some serious ass -- the ultimate in auditory takeover."  He ends by plugging the new Aerosmith album, Music from Another Dimension, and adding, "Idol was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it’s time to bring Rock Back.”

There has been a lot of speculation about J-Lo and Randy Jackson also leaving the show. It seems the only person they can keep around is Ryan Seacrest. You can read the full story here.
