#411 - Ultimate workout song, canines prefer classical and more Magic Mike

1). Self Magazine is declaring that “Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO is the ultimate work-out song.  “Right from the start, you hear a pumping rhythm at a fast-paced 130 beats per minute. Match your pace to the song's tempo, and you'll elevate your heart rate to the ideal aerobic zone,” says Costas Karageorghis, Ph.D., deputy head of research at Brunel University.

 

2). Speaking of songs, did you know that your dog is a fan of classical music?  Yup, canines prefer classical.  Researchers have found that 70 percent of dogs in kennels and 85 percent of dogs in households showed a reduction in stressed-out behavior when listening to classical music, including thunderstorm trembling, excitement with visitors and separation anxiety.

 

3). In Touch Magazine is reporting that Channing Tatum purchased a “brothel-style pub” in New Orleans called Saints and Sinners.  Word is he’s going to make it “Magic Mike”-style with an all-male revue.   YES!!!!

 

4). I90 will be closed specific times this weekend for the Blue Angels air show as part of Seafair.  The closures will be Saturday from 12:45 until 2:40 pm and Sunday between 12:45 and 2:40 pm as well.

 

5). No doubt about it, texting has become our main form of communication.  Research from the Pew Internet Research Center has found that the average teenager texts 60 times per day.  And while studies show that texting habits decrease as we get older, the average young adult can’t get through an entire hour without sending a text message.
